The purpose of the event is to support and help raise awareness of the work of the Susan G. Komen organization. Tickets are $25 per person and include a drink ticket and a ticket for the extensive basket tricky tray. Live music will be provided by the exciting New Jersey band Running Late.

"I am so honored to serve as this year's chair," said Dr. Julie, as she is known to her many grateful patients. "I was born and raised in Jersey City, so this year it's particularly gratifying to have the race held for the first time ever in Hudson County. I am extending the invitation to anyone who wants to support this most worthy cause, whether they are participating in the race or not."

The Race for the Cure will be held on Sunday, May 21, 2017 in Liberty State Park, Jersey City, NJ. The subject of breast cancer is of personal importance to Dr. DiGioiaherself as she, like many of her devoted patients, is a breast cancer survivor.

Susan G. Komen is the world’s largest breast cancer organization, funding more breast
cancer research than any other nonprofit while providing real-time help to those facing the disease. Komen was founded in 1982 by Nancy G. Brinker, who promised her sister, Susan G. Komen, that she would end the disease that claimed Suzy’s life. Komen North Jersey is working to better the lives of those facing breast cancer in the local community. Through events like the Pink Tie Affair and the Komen North Jersey Race for the Cure®, Komen North Jersey has invested over $16 million in community breast health programs in northern New Jersey and has helped contribute to the more than $920 million invested globally in research.
